Katherine Heigl shares her experiences as a child within a "white bubble" affected the way she raised her adoptive family of multiracial origins. The "Firefly Lane" as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress revealed in an interview recently that she was told that when it came to the color of her skin, it wasn't a factor for her what she wore when she was younger, but once she talked about her sister's age, whom she adopted from South Korea, she realized how different society treated both of the two. I inquired of Meg if when she was she was out with her parents she was treated with a specific manner while out on her own she got a completely different kind of treatment. She said, 'Oh, yes, every all the time! It made me realize I was naive," Heigl said to her parents. The singer became angry at the time, and chose to channel her anger into support her two adopted daughters. Heigl has a four year old son with her 13-year wife, Josh Kelley. In 2009, they adopted Nancy Leigh (12), one of their daughters from South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in the year 2012.
