Laura Linney's portrayal of vulnerable, yet strong characters has helped make her one of the most popular American actors. In the summer, while working at the company of her father Laura Linney was captivated with the theatre. Then she attended Brown University she studied acting and at Juilliard School, after which she began her acting career. After just two short years after graduation, she launched her Broadway-based career. The following year she made her first appearance in TV and film. Her appearances have been on a variety of television, film and stage productions since then. She's been nominated for three Tony Awards, three Academy Awards, five Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her professional career. She has been nominated for five Tony Awards and three Oscar Awards nominations. However, despite her distinctions and awards, stage is where she's at and she'll continue to perform on the stage and on screen.
